Summer is over, which means... 8/21/07 - Jason // @8:19PM |
No more nice weather! Actually no good games usually come out during the summer for some odd reason. But since summer is almost over, I managed to find a few PC games worth playing. The first game i'll mention is BioShock since it came out today. I played the demo (almost 2 gigs) and it's pretty cool just because of the weird 50s yet futuristic theme in a FPS style.
I also tried out Overlord, a game where you are in control of a bunch of minions. It is also somewhat FPS, but the gameplay is pretty unique for its type.
An of course, Hellgate London is slated to come out on October 31st. |
Starcraft 2!! 5/20/07 - Jason // @3:11PM |
This news was released yesterday from Blizzard themselves, Starcraft 2 is finally under development. After so long I thought Blizzard would never make this game. Warcraft 3 was not a disappointment when there was that gap with Warcraft 2, so I think Starcraft 2 will be a great game based on gamer expectations.

PC RTS Games 2/10/07 - Jason // @5:07PM |
As I was saying in my update yesterday... Err wait, I haven't updated in almost a year! I've either been lazy, busy, haven't seen many interesting games released, or all of the above.
At any rate, a couple of games that may or may not interest you. Supreme Commander is supposed to be released later this month, but has already came out with a demo which is about a gig download. Check it out if you have any interest in space or RTS type of games.
For those of you old school PC gamers out there, Command & Conquer 3 will be comming out in March. Probably worth checking out if you are a fan of the series or are an RTS fan.

Heroes of Might and Magic V Demo 4/17/06 - Jason // @8:01PM |
Apperently this was out last week, but for those of you who don't know yet there is a HOMM5 demo out.
It includes two maps from the Haven and Inferno campaigns, one single-player map and the duel mode with six heroes.

February update 2/21/06 - Jason // @1:47AM |
So I decided to put some kind of update on this page for the month just to be more "active". First off for those of you who are interested, Advent Children has an official release date of April 25th. Hopefully this date will not be pushed back anymore.
On another topic, I had the honor to play with world poker champion Chris "Jesus" Ferguson in a Freeroll Tournament at Full Tilt tonight. I actually managed to play a few good hands with him. Below is a featured moment of an AK vs KK situation. This was a preflop all in move, where Chris had 880 chips left. I played a great game overall this tournament and made it pretty far. Too bad I was 10 places short of making it in the money, which would of paid for two sets of 5 piece Chicken Nuggets at Wendys. :(

Heroes of Might and Magic V 1/2/06 - Jason // @4:39PM |
Looks like one of the more anticipated PC games for the new year will be Heroes V. Never thought another one would be made after 4, since 3DO went underwater. But it looks like Nival will continue the series, so I am not complaining seeing that this is an awesome series. I have also heard that HOMM5 will be similar to HOMM3, with some modifications. According to the company, the release date is scheduled around March of this year and can be preordered for around $20 from Target through Amazon. With all of this in mind, HOMM5 looks worthy of a try.

Poker Tourney 11/27/05 - Jason // @2:32AM |
So I decided to play in a real poker tournament for the first time. With 231 players in the game, the competition and luck factors were at a cut throat. During my stand point of being eliminated from the tourney, I was somewhat close from
becoming the short stacked
with about 8k worth of chips left. For my unpredicted last hand, I basically did a preflop all-in figuring my ~51% (9, 9: Wayne Gretzky hand) to ~49% (A, K: Big Slick) was a reasonable play in this final heads up battle. There are some games I could have played better, but I think I did pretty well by placing 31st for a first try. Here is my featured hand highlight of this tourney.

Nintendo Wi-Fi 11/7/05
- Jason
// @7:20PM |
To think after
seeing so many cool features the Nintendo DS had
when it first came out, the ideas never stoped
comming out. The Wi-Fi
feature has set a new bar on what handheld consoles
can do. Wireless gameplay on such a device, who
would of imagine? I can hardly contain myself
to try out this technology, especially with Mario
Kart DS comming out exactly one week from
now.

October at an end 10/30/05
- Jason
// @9:22PM |
October is a
month with many events, such as the start of Fall
and Halloween. It also seems that October is the
month of the mass PC game
releases. I am speaking in terms of the PC games
that people might pay attention to since most
of it is crap nowadays. Some of the games released
for the PC this month include Age of Empires 3,
Quake 4, and Civilization 4. Nice base titles
whose 1st releases made a positive impact toward
the gaming community. But will these new age versions
live up to their hype? So far I have only tested
the AoE Demo and haven't tried anything else.

Poker 9/28/05 - Jason
// @7:56PM |
I never thought
I would ever play with a poker champion. I had
the privilege to sit in a 7-card stud table with
the famous Erik
Seidel. Too bad he wasn't playing many hands
since he was more concentrated on an Omaha table
with actual monetary stakes. Nonetheless, I can
truthfully say that I played with a very famous
poker star ;)

Advent Children 8/21/05
- Jason
// @4:41PM |
The long awaited
Advent
Children is just around the corner (9/14).
Too bad i'm not in Japan, or a member of ShinRa,
otherwise I could peep this out on the big
screen.

Ear Phones 7/24/05

I could use
a pair of the Earforce
HPA, these seem nice.

Meteos 7/4/05 - Jason
// @9:51PM |
WarioWare
Touched! was definitely a superb title for
the Nintendo DS when it came out a while ago.
After continuously beating the minigames countlessly,
I thought there would be no good games for the
DS which would be released anytime soon. After
a long hiatus, this is no more. Meteos
lives up as a worthy title for the DS in terms
of single and multiplayer aspects. Bomberman DS
is also worth looking for those who know 7 other
people who own a DS for some wild multiplayer
action. I have also updated the about page a bit.

Sega Fantasy IV: Everybody vs the PSP 4/9/05
- Jason
// @5:16PM |
Here's a funny
flash
movie for those who are familar with many
game consoles made. It's even better for those
of you who played the US version of Final Fantasy
3. The first 1/3 of the movie has a good story
line, but the movie itself lasts about 30 mins.

Sony PSP 4/6/05 -
Jason
// @10:43PM |
I played WipEout
Pure over the weekend, pretty nice for a racing
game on a handheld. Too bad the PSP is freaking
expensive. If anybody would like to help and get
me one, you might get one as well in the process,
sign up for the Free
PSP website. I just need 5 referals! :)
