A new map and new stragety for you loyal viewers.
With me pulling a Night Elf from the random dice, I decided to try building a Chimaera army. Chimaeras are great for attacking land and building units, but lack any air attack. An excellent choice of unit if you know that your opponent is going for strictly land. Building an effective Chimaera army means you have to use a dedicated build order. Here is an example:
4
starter wisps start out mining gold, other builds alter 1st wisp goes and build moon well and keeps building wells as to your desire (atleast 4 though) 2nd, 3rd, 4th wisp goes to wood Finished moon well and alter wisps goes to wood and Hunter's hall. Create a hero of your choice (Priestess of the Moon for aura damage) 5th, 6th wisp goes to wood, then upgrade Tree of Life to Tree of Ages Upgrade Strength of the Wild and Reinforced Hide (I recommend Strength of the Wild with highest priority) Once Tree is upgraded, make an Ancient of Wind (prereq, use a wisp thats gathering wood) Upgrade Improved Strength of the Wild then Reinforced Hide Upgrade Tree of Ages to Tree of Eternity Make atleast 2 Chimaera Roasts (use two wisp that are gathering wood, make them go back to wood after) Upgrade Advanced Strength of the Wild and Advanced Reinforced Hide Start pumping out Chimaeras Upgrade Corrosive Breath from Chimaera Roast when you have atleast 4 Chimaeras |
This strategy is only good in team games, if you try to do it individual games you are most likely screwed since the aid of teammates are a necessity.
Also in this game, we see yellow making Chimaeras late in the game. This is probably because he saw mine early in the game and decided to make some of counter approach. Now compare yellow's build order with mines and you'll see that his weapon/armor is upgraded 3/0 while mines is 3/3. His chimaeras didn't last very long in combat.
