You ever hear the saying "never give up", even when things look hopeless? In today’s game, my partner drops a game within the first couple of minutes which makes things for me to look gloomy. We'll analyze how micromanagement of troops becomes a tedious task if you don't plan ahead. We'll also look at how this phrase of never giving up can come true.

My path is clear

Whenever you play a game and you see the lag screen with your partner's name on it, first thought that comes to mind when is "please don't drop, please don't drop!" There was a drop in this case, but perhaps for the best since I don't know his skill level, and I usually get crappy partners on the anonymous team up system. So I had to think fast and on my feet to ensure a win when my partner dropped. Luckily he chose orcs, the race I am most comfortable with, and had a good start of building things. He started off by making a Tauren Chieftain, a welcomed hero for my arsenal since I was using a Far Seer.

The first thing I thought to myself was, how shall I do this, which orc town should make what? At the time I was building, my plan was to make a mixture of grunts and eventually shamans. With the change of plans, I decided to skip the grunts altogether on my end and just go straight for mass shamans and let the other town build mass grunts with upgrades.

Thoughts on the game

Ironically neither of the two groups set foot in either of my towns, with the exception of the expansion I made in the center. When blue decided to hit my expansion, he had a small army. We engage in a battle in which he retreated to his town. I decided to follow him since I think I could of taken him, so I did. His partner eventually helped him, but it wasn't enough to takedown my orcs as a whole. Blue's town becomes destroyed and eventually so does teal.

Morals to the story? Don't ever give up, you never know the real odds against you unless you try. Second, if you know how to play the game well enough and think you have a weak partner, you'll probably have better chances winning by controlling his town instead of him controlling it himself. But then again we go back to this micromanagement of units and buildings which can be quite a challenge, so it really depends on the situation.
